How We Began
Huat Lai Resources Berhad
From humble beginnings as a 15-acre layer farm in Serkam, Melaka, we have grown to become one of Malaysia’s prominent poultry production companies. Our success relies on our core values of commitment to excellence, advancing our technologies and creating value for our shareholders, crew and communities.
What sets us apart is our specialist skills and diverse product portfolio that includes poultry farming, broiler production, eggs supply and sales, poultry feed and paper egg tray manufacturing. All our meat and poultry products are from livestock reared to strict standards of animal welfare and accredited by the Ministry of Agriculture under Malaysia Agriculture Animal Practices.

Huat Lai Resources Berhad became the starting point for one of Malaysia’s leading egg and poultry providers with a comprehensive upstream & downstream supply chain.
Huat Lai goes Green
Green Friend Fertilizer Sdn Bhd was established to convert chicken manure into high-quality fertilizer, contributing to the greening of our planet.
Creating Paper Products for Eggs
Huat Lai Paper Products Sdn Bhd was founded with the aim of minimizing plastic consumption while providing paper-based solutions for packaging eggs.
Huat Lai begins Broiler Breeding
Huat Lai Broiler Breeders Sdn Bhd was set up with a noble mission to feed the nation. In the same year, Huat Lai proudly received a prestigious Quality Assurance award.
Listed on Bursa Malaysia
Huat Lai’s listing on Bursa Malaysia marks a significant milestone, enhancing transparency and efficiency in the company’s operations.
Huat Lai Keeps Expanding
Renopinang Sdn Bhd was incorporated to diversify Huat Lai’s business portfolio. Concurrently, we successfully acquired Premier Layer Sdn Bhd and a 51% stake in Linggi Agriculture Sdn Bhd.
First Broiler Production
Huat Lai initiated its first broiler production using imported grandparent stock from Ross, Aviagen, one of the world’s best broiler breeds. Simultaneously, Huat Lai Feedmill Sdn Bhd was founded to produce our carefully formulated in-house feed.
Acquired Linggi Agriculture Sdn Bhd
This acquisition further reinforced our standing in the poultry farming industry.
Expanding Portfolio with Poultry Processing
Huat Lai founded HLRB Processing Sdn Bhd with the goal of meeting the surging market demand for poultry processing. In the same year, Titian Potensi Sdn Bhd, Titan Effort Sdn Bhd and HLRB Broiler Farm Sdn Bhd were also established.
Huat Lai Grows the Business
Huat Lai (G.P.S.) Farm Sdn Bhd was set up to contribute to feeding the nation with quality products.
Diversifying our Portfolio
Huat Lai commenced operations at its first slaughterhouse, marking the company’s transformation into a full integrated poultry company complete with hatcheries, feed mills and now, a slaughterhouse.
Consequently, our company earned the Halal certification by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia and obtained Veterinary Health Certification by the Department of Veterinary Science.
Huat Lai Makes Progress
The acquisition of 51% stake in Chuan Hong Poultry Farm Sdn Bhd amplifies our success in poultry farming.
Further Acquisitions
Acquiring 51% stake in TPC Plus Berhad and 70% stake in Pt. Lestari Agribisnis Indonesia strengthened our position as a premier poultry farm dedicated to producing top quality eggs and poultry.

Delisting from Bursa Malaysia
Huat Lai was officially delisted from Bursa Malaysia and privatised in January 2017 to create new investment opportunities and maintain a high growth status.

Huat Lai acquired Chew’s Agriculture Pte Ltd, Singapore with the vision of emerging as one of the nation’s foremost sustainable farms producing superior quality eggs, including Singapore’s first cage-free eggs.
